Vectech Awarded BIRD Foundation Grant to Advance AI-Driven Mosquito Control with Diptera.ai Partnership

Vectech, a leader in AI-enabled entomology solutions, is pleased to announce that it has been selected as a recipient of a competitive grant from the BIRD (Binational Industrial Research & Development) Foundation, supporting collaborative innovation between U.S. and Israeli companies.

Under this award, Vectech is partnering with Jerusalem-based biotech innovator Diptera.ai, combining advanced artificial intelligence and biological technologies to tackle one of the world’s most pressing public-health challenges: mosquito-borne disease transmission.

The joint project focuses on the development and deployment of AI-powered systems to monitor and control Anopheles stephensi, a highly efficient malaria vector species, by leveraging Diptera.ai’s cutting-edge sterile insect technologies alongside Vectech’s expertise in field deployable vector identification and data-driven surveillance.

The BIRD Foundation’s grant program fosters binational R&D partnerships that accelerate innovation and commercial impact spanning sectors including biotechnology, healthcare, agritech, and more.
